DuraEdge® is the LAZZARO edge-chip programme. It is an engineered rim profile on a fully vitrified body, a test regime at a Lucideon-approved laboratory, and a written guarantee against edge chipping in commercial service.

Two bodies, two terms

The guarantee follows the material.

Fine bone china is the stronger body per millimetre of section, so it carries the longer term. High performance porcelain is built for the highest wash-cycle counts and carries five years.

Applies to the DuraEdge® sculpted and plain whites: Linea, Diamond, Scallop, Wave, Aristo Checker, Harmony, Sufi, Galaxy, Matrix, Rimmed and Coupe, and to Athena, Linea and Wave in LAZZARO Casa.

High Performance Porcelain

5-year edge-chip guarantee

Applies to every plate in Paragon, Linea, Coast and Radiance, and to the Palette, Palette White, Palette Bands and Gaia ranges.

Figures in pound-feet of impact energy to first visible chip. Comparison figures are for conventional hotel porcelain on the same method. Fine bone china is rated against BS 5416 and the LAZZARO internal standard: twice the strength of other bone china on the market. Full test reports are available to trade customers on request.

Covered

Edge chipping in normal commercial use

A DuraEdge® piece that chips at the rim in ordinary service — including commercial dishwashing — is replaced like for like for the term of the guarantee.

Term

Lifetime or five years

Lifetime of the piece for fine bone china; five years from the date of supply for high performance porcelain. The term runs with the outlet, not the individual plate.

Not covered

Breakage, misuse, thermal abuse

Dropped or broken pieces, direct-flame use, and damage outside the published care guidance. Replacement is limited to the chipped piece.
